So sad, thoughts are with family, friends and those present..

Very surprised too considering the emphasis on safety with art cars and vehicles these days.. Hoping this does not dissuade future attendees or create more restrictions on the event. That being said it’s always good to reflect and re-evaluate policy that effects the collective… Make good choices all.

This is just so sad, I just looked her up on FB, so many friends and happy photos. So tragic. Actually “seeing” someones life really puts your own into perspective too, rather than just hearing a name and then forgetting it. She looked so full of life!

Be kind and supportive to your fellow man. We only live once and you never know when it will end. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

Be safe out there on the playa everyone!!

So tragic. I know how hard I play when I come to BM. I am exhausted from partying, I am looking at so many amazing and wonderful human beings and their creations.

If it was me who was killed, I would want my family to know the aforementioned. I would want them to understand “I chose” to attend this outrageously fun event in the same way I choose to rock climb, parachute from a plane or spear fish in the deep waters off Catalina and I was totally and completely aware of all the risks.

I pray for those who grieve for this woman. I know this feeling of loss all to well, having lost my sister just 10 days ago.

I new celebrate their love and courageousness and honor.

Look not to fault. That is a place that does not exist. It is an empty hole of inescapable turmoil. Look to love. There you will find the memories to create passion and continued self expression.

To all of the friends & family of Alicia, I’m so sad to hear of her passing. My heart go’s out to anyone that knew Alicia. I didn’t know her, but as a fellow burner it makes me sad to know we have lost a member of the Burner family.
I’m sure it was just an accident, but as someone who is planning develop an art car(bus) for the 2015 Burn, I will be creating structures in front of the bus and the sides to keep anything like this from happening around my Art Car.
I will also create something in honor of her, and share at Burning Man in 2015 for others to see and think of her. So I hope this is will be fine to do, and use her photos on facebook to be part of what ever I create in remembrance of Alicia. Once again my sympathy’s go out to all Alicia family, friends loved ones.

This is a very sad event, one that is felt and understood by the whole community.

To improve safety would it make sense to reduce the size of art cars ? A double decker party bus pulling an equally large trailer would require the driver to be highly skilled , a large portion of the vehicle is not visible. The driver is never going to be able to control the flow of passenger traffic from and to their vehicle. In attempt not to miss a thing passengers will want to hop from the bus to the trailer and back.

We have all scrapped a knee when our clothing got caught or a simple trip on a bump.
Now Burners you are a caring and inventive gang, what simple and effective ideas can you share to honor Alicia and protect a new generation of burners.

I will miss her. There are no other words. I do pray that any “investigation” focuses solely on what we might do to reduce risk at BM and not who is to blame. There’s already enough pain. I take some comfort in the knowledge that she was in the most wonderful place on earth, if only for a while.

This was my first Burn, it was terrific, but I was simply devastated when I heard these news. Let us all keep a loving memory of Alicia, who was one of us.
