One week to go! I’m so excited I can’t feel my legs! Do you think I’ll need those?
One of the most commonly asked questions on the playa is: “Where can I get an internet connection?” Today’s Public Service Announcement is here to help!
You can listen below:

Yup. Love this. As an early burner, one of the things that drew us to the event in the mid 90s was the fact that for a week you were disconnected from the default world. And we loved the anarchistic way that things that we expected from society such as clean running water, cell reception, convenience stores and more were not available. Add always available internet to that…so I really liked the energy of this little audio piece. Yup. Radical fuck you self reliance!!

Oh yes, the internet…. well right by the wireless cell phone charging station is the “hot spot” located, EVERYWHERE!

What is the point of going to Burning Man if you need to be tethered to the outside world? That is what the trash fence is for….To keep the outside out and the inside in!

this is not your father’s burning man! the modern burning man attendee would literally die if they could not connect to the internet for a week. facebook needs to be updated at least daily and twitter at least hourly.
this isn’t a matter of convenience, but a matter of public heath as center camp would otherwise become a morgue – and not just look like one.

hahahahaha! 100000000% agree with this PSA. :D

Brilliant. One of the best aspects of Burning Man is that it is cut off from the outside world. There should never be a cell phone network or internet in Black Rock City. I cannot wait for a week of immediacy with no cell phone connection.

This is rude and childish, especially since BMIR itself and the Playacam use that same Internet. Much better to have not made the PSA, or should I say, Public Service Insult.

Hey, Caveat!
Please consider also publishing the text of these PSAs when you publish the audio links, when available.
Not all of us, on or off playa, can hear. Why limit the wonder of BMIR to those with hearing ability?
Thanks!
