Decompression Challenge

Yeah, Decompression is real.

But don’t stew in upset at how the Default World is not like Black Rock City.
Instead, STEP UP and be the person you are in BRC in the Default World.

It will be harder.  You will have less support.
But you owe it to the planet.

You got a golden ticket and got to witness the best of humanity.

Now you are an ambassador.

You have the responsibility to role-model your best to the world.

Practice the Principles. Shine bright, gift big, and live radically.

Give others permission to do the same. Create ripples of inspiration.

This is how we change the world.

    Hey Halcyon–

Love you and all that you’ve done, but I’m not so cool on you now charging money for your services relating to Burning Man.

I appreciate you speaking your truth. I believe that Decommodification is about keeping Black Rock City sacred.
I think it is within the Principles to charge for meals or outfits made in advance that are intended to be used on-Playa.
And I think it is okay to charge for post-burn car detailing or even selling art originally made for Burning Man. In the same way, post-event Integration coaching can be done within the Principles – while also working to uphold the Burning Man Project’s mission statement.

        Also…
My whole life is related to Burning Man.
ANYTHING I do is related to Burning Man. So it isn’t about *if* I charge for services related to it, but rather *how* to do it in a way that honors Decommodification.

This made tears come to my eyes. I know Pappy is watching over us, filled with joy! We are all trying to make the tiniest impression on the world to create that ripple effect, to be the light in the dark. Thank you for your words Tia. And I know Mi Tia Victoria has a big smile on her face when she sees little Diego :)

John “Halcyon” Styn + Pink Heart = Money.

Tired of reading and viewing the same old propaganda from the same old propagandists in the Burning Man Journal?

Editors: Please keep working on bringing in new blood! New ideas! New something else! What are you going to do about all the “Burner” trash that is dumped on Piute lands and along Nevada’s roads and in Reno, and Burning Man’s pollution problems? How are you going to stop the one-percenters (donors) from devouring everything that is Burning Man? Or, do you want the one-percenters (donors) to devour everything that is Burning Man? Is Burning Man racist? Think about that one for a while, please.

You need to deal with your latest list of existential threats before it’s too late! Save the pink hugs for the holiday party.
