This is the official call for designs for 2020 Black Rock City stickers! What do stickers even look like in the infinite realities of The Multiverse? Which wormhole will your creativity crawl through to reach our dusty paws on playa this year?
Your design could be the one passed out with the materials you receive at the Greeters Station upon entering Black Rock City. Other designs might become official sticker swag passed out on-and-off the playa throughout the year. Help us remember our wonderful desert home even when we’re away throughout the year.
If you plan to submit a design, please read through the requirements below. We can’t print the sticks if you don’t meet the specs!
Design Specs:
Your design(s) will need to be one of three die sizes:
- 3” diameter circle
- 2.5″ x 5.75” with a 0.125” corner radius
- 3″x 3″ square with a 0.062” corner radius
You must OUTLINE all fonts, meaning vector text is no longer a font but rather is vector shapes. This eliminates issues for the printer not having the font.
If using 1–3 colors, set up the file to print as PMS. If using four or more colors, set up the file to print as CMYK.
Designer Tips ‘n’ Tricks:
- Only round stickers are considered for selection as the coveted “Greeter Sticker.”
- Include “Burning Man” or “Black Rock City” and the year 2020 in your design to get extra awesome brownie points.
- Incorporate the Multiverse theme. Or don’t. It’s your sticker. But the Greeter Sticker almost always coordinates with the theme.

I’ve been working on a design for months. It’s 3″x 3″ square but with a 0.0675” corner radius. Can BMorg make an exception in this case? The font is New Times Roman so I don’t need to vector the shapes since all printers have this font. This design is a winner!

Radius: The print shop is using existing dies, so no they’re unlikely to budge.
Type: You will need to vector outline the type, there are many versions of Times New Roman and using a different one may mean different sizing/spacing/appearances.

You’re just saying that because I’m black.
Report comment
You’re only 0.0675% black with a CMY mixture simulating the rest.

Realize vinyl stickers are Moop as they disintegrate into smaller non-environment friendly pieces that eventually end up in the environment and especially in our oceans. There are alternatives. A company in Denver started by a Burner has one solution in that they make sustainable wooden stickers that are environmentally friendly from sustainable sources. They are even dishwasher safe. Something along these lines would be a much better choice when considering we need to always consider leaving less of a moopy footprint on Mother Earth.

PMS……. really?
Report comment
On research, it stands for Pantone Matching System (PMS), so possibly the worst acronym ever

We didn’t come up with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can the sticker be printed on a transparent background?
Report comment
Unfortunately no, to keep it simple only opaque stickers are printed through this process.

Considering the context, is the call for submission still ongoing in our part of the multiverse ? A digital sticker could be a nice addition to a probable dematerialized Burning Man 2020, right ?
