SPOILER ALERT: There is no magic solution for sleep.  If you can’t sleep where you are, either A) Don’t sleep or B) Don’t be where you are.

In this live Q & A I also answer the question, “Do I have to join a Theme Camp?”

NOTE: I am not an employee of Burning Man. Just an enthusiastic Participant. Your mileage may vary.

  • Science says:

Good advice on sleeping, Just a couple caveats:
    1) Many camps are okay with you crashing on the couches or hammocks of their *public* area, but not their camp-members-only areas, like their kitchen or tents or vehicle areas. Especially not *in* their tents or vehicles. In any case, ask first.
    2) Never sleep anywhere on the open playa, because you WILL get run over by bikes and art cars, and/or the ground will suck the heat right out of your body. Either way, you’ll die.
